Jenny smiled politely. As she climbed into his car, Jennie made herself a promise: no more dates for a while. No reason to torture some unsuspecting guy when her heart wasn’t available anyway, and, if she were truthful with herself, it hadn’t been since Jace had crushed it several months before.

Jennie Townsend is unlucky in love, so she is immediately suspicious when a mysterious new student named Nate tries to gain her friendship. But there is something special about Nate, and in spite of her best efforts Jennie finds her feelings for the boy growing deeper every day.
In fact, Nate is more special than Jennie can even imagine. He is a guardian angel, sent to protect Jennie during a most dangerous time in her life. To do so, he must first become close to her – but not too close. The rules for Protectors warn against physical contact and strictly forbid falling in love. But the more time Nate spends with Jennie, the harder the rules are to follow. Will Nate be able to save Jennie from a premature end, or will his own emotions – and Jennie’s – get in the way of completing the task for which he was specifically chosen?
With Unbreakable Love, Angela Carling has created a captivating story for young adult readers, with a refreshing twist on relationship issues. It is an ode to the magical power of true love, a tribute to belief in a benevolent higher power that watches over us and surrounds us every day of our lives.
This is a debut novel by Ms. Carling and I really enjoyed the storyline!
The writing style was different from what I am use to and the book was written like the author was telling a story. It was not necessarily from one character’s point of view. It was interesting to read a book written this way, but I was not able to get in touch with the characters as much as I would have liked to.
The book starts off with Jennie going on yet another date set up by her BFF. She is tired of trying to be polite and acting like she is enjoying herself. Her ex has broken her heart and she does not have it in her to open her heart to anyone in the near future.
Then we meet Nate. Nate is Jennie’s guardian angel. He is sent to help her with a traumatic point in her life. When they meet, Nate is immediately drawn to her. And it does not take Jennie long to fall for Nate either, even though she wanted to resist.
The really tough part about this whole book was the fact that these two could not be together! We watched as Jennie got her heart-broken over and over again from Nate because he was unable to tell her his true feelings!
In the end, the book actually turned out to be pretty perfect and I was left with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye!
Nate was shaking his head now, and although they couldn’t hear him, they could plainly see that he was pleading “don’t go,” over and over again.
