Kissing someone other than your boyfriend is cheating.

But what about thinking about kissing someone other than your boyfriend?

What about thinking about it a lot?

Brenna Blixen has the perfect boyfriend. He’s sweet, sexy, loyal, and sure that Brenna is the best thing that’s ever happened to him. But being the perfect girlfriend isn’t as easy as Brenna thought it would be, and the pressure that comes with trying to be Jake’s everything is beginning to weigh on her. When her mother surprises her with a trip to Paris over winter break, she’s torn. She anticipated spending her vacation snuggling with Jake Kelly, ice-skating, drinking cocoa, and relaxing…but what girl in her right mind would turn down a trip to Paris?

Things only get more confusing when she winds up unexpectedly and unavoidably thrown into Saxon Maclean’s arms in the City of Lights. Far away from the comfort and stability she finds at Jake’s side, Brenna faces down the feelings that have been swirling through her since the day she laid eyes on Saxon. Is it fair for her to call herself Jake’s girlfriend when she has so many unresolved feelings about someone else?

Brenna is determined to figure it all out, even if it means making some of the hardest decisions of her entire life. She also learns that every single thing she does has rippling repercussions, some that fill her with total regret. By the time she figures out what her heart truly wants, she realizes that she may not be able to have it after all.

This book is recommended for Older/Mature YA.

My Review:

Junk Miles-Running slower to keep your pulse in it’s normal range because your body is tired from some previous workload.

Okay, I think that my heart has calmed down enough to write this review??? Whew, what a head spinning book to read! I love the character of Brenna and even though a lot of people may disagree, I still love her!

I totally understand her uncertainty. She has two hot guys falling over her. Both of them she has a connection with. It just seems right that she test the waters and figure out which one is better for her. Now, with that said, I cannot say that she went about it the correct way. I think she sort of just jumped right into it without really thinking it through, but, sometimes love is a funny thing.

I must say that I loved her and Saxon together! They were funny and hilarious and frustrating!!! I really do believe that he loves her, but just has a funny way of showing it. Poor Jake! He had his heart broken and I felt really bad for him too! What a tough decision! If I was thrown into this situation, I am not sure if I could decide either!

Yet again, I think she chose correct for her. There were some things that Saxon did or said that would have turned me off also. I think he just needs to lay it all out for her and be honest, but I do not think that will ever happen.

The idea of being in Paris with a swoony boy was awesome! I really enjoyed the storyline in this book and loved it more than the first! I can’t wait for the third book to see what happens next!!!

  1. Not a knock against the book itself, but solely relationship-driven stories don’t really entice me. I like a little plot with my romance (actually, way more plot than romance, to be honest). Plus, just from reading the blurb, I can already predict who she’ll chose, so I have a feeling that this one would just fall flat for me.

    • hrose-I will put a disclaimer the post that it may contain spoilers, but I didn’t think that I gave much more than the blurb gave. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Lori-I understand what your saying. I just have a thing for sappy romances! lol ———- Sent from AT&T’s Wireless network using Windows Live Hotmail
