She should have run. Now, she’ll have to fight.
Eighteen year old Birdie may be homeless, but she’s surviving, that is until a mysterious guy throws money in the air like a crazy game show host and she grabs some with the idea she’ll be able to buy dinner that night.
In that singular moment, unassuming Birdie becomes the girl in everyone’s viewfinder. Thugs want to kill her. Money-guy wants to recruit her. The very hot, very rich and very out of her league Grey Mathews wants to save her.
Birdie, though, wants nothing to do with any of them until she realizes fate didn’t bring them all together.
Her heritage did.
Now, with only twenty-one days left, she’s got to decide whether to follow in the footsteps of those before her or risk her life for people she’s only just met.
Now with that type of description, who can not sit down and start reading? There is very little down time once you get started with this story. Birdie, our main female character, is following this man who ends up throwing around a bunch of money. I for one would be dashing around trying to grab all that I could . Especially if I were homeless at the time. In the meantime, the strange man has told all of these people that they must do at least one good thing with their money and Birdie does not disappoint. Next we have some men who would rather have all the money to themselves so they start following Birdie who then literally stumbles upon our leading male character, Grey Mathews, and his family. Ah, Grey Mathews……….my knight in shining armor. Oops! Did I say that out loud? That is all I am going to tell about the story so now you must go out and purchase a copy because you have to know how it ends right? Right!!
I really enjoyed this story by Julie Reece. She is a new author to me and I am really looking forward to reading anything she comes out with in the future. She really knows how to tell a story and you really get to know her characters. Now, this is strictly my opinion but Ms. Reece took me thinking one thing about this story and then lead off in a totally different direction. That is something that I thoroughly enjoy about reading and I was not disappointed!
I want to thank Ms. Reece and her publishers for allowing Nightly Reading to be a part of this blog tour!
