I’M BACK! Opal, Me Before You & The End of All Things…Reviews!

Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in dis.covering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger… and they know it.

This book was exactly what I had expected from JLA! Now that Dawson is back, Katy is trying very hard to keep it together. Dee hates her, Dawson is on a rampage to find Beth and Daemon is more loving than ever. The group is in sort of disarray and Katy and Daemon do not always see things the same. There is a lot of Daemon in this book and I personally LOVED IT!!!! The ending left me speechless, yes, expect another cliffhanger! I cannot wait for the next one to come out…yet again! There was much, love, laughter and even tears! I do not know how Ms. Armentrout will be able to top this one?

5Me Before you by Jojo Moyes

Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.

What Lou doesn’t know is she’s about to lose her job or that knowing what’s coming is what keeps her sane.

Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he’s going to put a stop to that.

What Will doesn’t know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they’re going to change the other for all time.

This book left me crying, well more like sobbing and thinking for days after I had read it! When Lou and Will first meet, they have one undying hatred for each other! Somehow, they seem to get past it and then the unspeakable happens! Will is planning on doing something that Lou just cannot even fathom! This book is all about falling in love and finding the courage to let go. Loving someone so much that you would do anything for them, even if your heart breaks in the end. I encourage everyone to pick up this book, I had not heard of it prior to Netgalley, but am so glad that I did!

4The End Of All Things by Lissa Bryan

the end of all thingsTo Be Published on January 24, 2013 by The Writer’s Coffee Shop

After a terrible virus ravages the planet, Carly Daniels, one of the few survivors, hides in her apartment in Juneau trying to survive the best she can with only occasional forays to gather food. With her is Sam, a wolf puppy she found starving on the streets. He becomes her companion and a reason to continue when giving up sometimes seems like the more attractive option. Still dazed with shock and grief, she hopes for the world to go back to normal soon.

She is discovered by Justin, an ex-soldier who is intent on making his way to Florida before the winter sets in. Justin coaxes her out of her hiding place and convinces her to join him on his journey, because a warmer climate will be their best chance against the extremes of Mother Nature.

Together, they begin a perilous journey through a nation laid to waste by the disaster. Challenges abound along the way. The weather, injury, and shortage of supplies all help to slow them down. In time, they discover that they aren’t the only survivors. Some are friendly but some have had their minds destroyed by the high fever. Then there are those who simply take what they want, leaving Carly and Justin with no choice but to defend what is theirs.

But their journey is not without joy and love. Together, they face every struggle, including an unplanned pregnancy. Despite the perils of bringing a child into a world of chaos, their baby is a new beginning for themselves and a symbol of hope for the other survivors they find along the way.

This is the story of their journey to find a place to begin a new life, and a home in each other.

Anyone whom loves dystopians or books about the end of life as we know it will really enjoy this read! Carly is just trying to mind her own business and trying to stay alive in her apartment with her “dog” which actually turns out to be a wolf! Justin takes up residence across the street on the sidewalk and tries to win Carly’s trust. When the two finally learn that they will find no harm in each other, they decide to head to Florida where they can grow their own food and will not have to worry about the cold elements. Throughout their trek, they run into all kinds of different people. Some good and some down right scary. Once I started this book, I had a very hard time putting it down. We are not really left with a cliffhanger, the book seems to wrap itself up nicely, but, I would like to see more of what happens with these characters and would LOVE a sequel!!!

That’s all I have for today! I would like to wish all of you a very happy and healthy new year!!!! Thanks for following:)
