Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren
Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.
Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.
As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other. Originally only available online as The Office by tby789—and garnering over two million reads on fan fiction sites—Beautiful Bastard has been extensively updated for re-release.
Chloe and Bennett do not really get along all that well. Chloe does things that drive Bennett insane. He likes his assisstant to be on top of everything at all times. Bennett is a beautiful bastard which really means he is beautiful to look at, but not a real nice guy. He is rude and over bearing and Chloe stands up to him the best that she can. What either of them expect is the attraction for each other to be so strong. Chloe tries to stay away from him as best as she can, but when they are together, she just cannot resist him. This leads to a very mixed up relationship and Chloe’s internship in jeopardy. Great book for fans of Fifty Shades!
Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly
It’s the morning after her cousin’s bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she’s in a stranger’s penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy…husband!
Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter…no, Connor Reed and she’s gone from first meet to marriage in one night!
Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor’s shocking bombshell?
“I don’t want a divorce.”
This book was kind of hilarious and I could totally see this happening. Megan has given up on relationships and there is only one thing she wants from them. She just has to find the right guy and he needs to be willing. When she wakes up after her first night in Vegas and realizes she does not recognize the man she is with, she knows she is in trouble. She can’t even get his name straight!!! With alternating POV’s, Connor believes that Megan is everything he has ever wanted. He just needs to convince her of that. The sexual tension in this book was crazy. I just kept rooting for them to actually get together. If you are looking for a great quick read, pick this one up. At 224 pages, it can be finished in no time!
