“I have a proposition for you.” Kacey should have run the minute those words left Seattle millionaire Jake Titus’s mouth. It’s been years since Kacey’s seen her childhood friend Jake, but the minute Jake mentions his ill grandmother, Kacey is ready to do anything for the sweet old woman. And if that means pretending they’re engaged for her sake-so be it.

But Kacey wasn’t counting on Jake’s older brother Travis still being there. She calls him “Satan” for a reason: she’s never forgotten the way he teased and taunted her. Yet when they meet again, Travis’s gorgeous smile is a direct hit to her heart . . . and Kacey’s more confused than ever. As the days pass, only one thing starts to become alarmingly clear-she never should have accepted Jake’s deal . . .

My Thoughts

Another New Adult title and yet another swoony boy! I have such a hard time trying to resist reading any NA book that comes across Amazon, Netgalley or Edelweis! I love the drama and the happy endings and this one does not disappoint!!!

I bet you think that I am going to say that my favorite character is Kacey or even Travis…Nuh uh!! Guess again!!! It is actually grandma!!!! believe it or not, Jake & Travis’s grandmother actually makes the book! She is freakin hilarious and an absolute hoot!!! She fakes an illness, has an ongoing affair with the old man next door and is a tough old chick that she can put both boys in their place. Any scene that included Grammy had me cracking up! I cannot say enough about her character except that I want one!!!

The storyline itself was intriguing and I personally loved the prologue. The book starts off with a younger version of Kacey, Travis and Jake. Travis is always picking on Kacey and making her cry, he is jealous that Jake and Kacey were having their first kiss. Travis tells Jake that he wanted to be her first kiss and that he is going to marry that girl some day. Jake just laughs in his face and explains that Kacey hates Travis, since he is so mean to her. But, Travis really likes Kacey and doesn’t really know how to act around her so he just tries to avoid her….forever!

Great opening!!! I loved seeing what the boys were like when they were young. The story jumps to many years later and Kacey and Jake are still best friends. They haven’t seen each other in a while since they got drunk together one night and let things between them go too far. A night that they both want to forget! Jake convinces Kacey to come home with him and pretend that they are engaged. He is in trouble with the family business after is risqué behavior. After much coaxing, Kacey agrees.

That is when the story truly unfolds. Kacey gets stuck between the two brothers and Grandma seems intent on having a blast watching the show!

I really enjoyed this book! It had a little different twist to it than just girl falls for boy and they live happily ever after! I am telling you that you really need to read it…just because of Grandma!!! LOL!!

  1. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you need to write more on this topic, it may not be a taboo matter but usually folks don’t talk about such subjects. To the next! Kind regards!!|
