“You have to kill him.” Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

My Thoughts

I cannot express how much I loved this book! I have read a few reviews and some were very positive, some were just eh? And yet some were not so good! I can honestly tell you that this my friends, is my favorite book of the year so far!!!
i love it photo: i dont care i love it PlGqXmq_zps418f6dce.gif

This book is really hard to explain without giving away too much!!! I am going to try to do my best because I don’t want to tell you all what happens but, I want you to RUN OUT AND READ IT!!!! Then, I want to you to come back here so that I can discuss it with you!!!

The book opens with Em in her prison cell staring at the drain. She imagines what the drain is actually used for after all of the gruesome things she had seen happen in her time being imprisoned. But, there is something about that drain that calls to her, she has to look! After some serious figuring out how to get the darn thing open, she finds a note which is a list of some sort. Written in her handwriting!! Most items have been crossed off except the last one which states “you have to kill him”! Talk about an opening to a book!!

Em has allies around her that she never realized existed and the biggest one is the sweet boy on the other side of the wall from her, Finn. They concoct a sort of plan of escape then try to figure out what to do next.

Now Marina is your typical teenager. She is madly in love with the boy next door, James. Marina will do just about anything for James and when Jame’s brother gets gunned down during a ceremony, she stays by his side the whole time.

How do all these people connect you ask? Well, you will just have to read the book!

I loved Em and Finn together! Em is bad ass and she knows what needs to be done. She tries, she really does, but she still has a heart and at times it actually stands in her way. Finn is just plain awesome!!! He is sweet and is there when Em needs him the most. Even if it is just to crack a joke to make her smile. Or to sing to her which had happened a lot in the cells.

From what I understand, this is Ms. Terrill’s first book! I was completely blown away and a little obsessed for days after finishing it! She has quite the imagination and an ability to create interesting characters. The world building was phenomenal and I thoroughly enjoyed the book from beginning to end!!!

I HOPE *crosses fingers* that there is a second book in the works! *please please please*
