Synopsis: What if to save the ones you love, you had to unlock the key to a different reality?
Generations of mystery smash together when a seemingly traditional family must shatter their illusions of normality to confront themselves and their friends, leaving no possibility unexplored in order to rescue- well, who exactly? Watch the Ross family, the High Five Gang, and multiple generations dig into an innovative explosion of imagination where they must confront numerous realities, real-world danger, and worst of all—their own teenage hormones!
In a place where nothing is as it seems and shocks are around every corner, even the people you thought you knew may find themselves strangers in this moving and provocative reality-bender. With breathless pacing and psychological intrigue, Erasing: Shadows and the High Five Gang will keep you guessing until the very end.
1. What is the easiest thing about writing?
The ideas are the easiest part for me. I love cooking up characters and plots and their interactions. Ideas seem to flow really well.
2. What is your favorite book and why?
Wow that is a hard one. I have been influenced by so many books. We recently had to name ten books that affected us and I couldn’t even keep it to ten. I’ll say anything by Philip K. Dick. He was able to seamlessly blend deep thought with entertaining writing.
3.If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
Probably American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It’s a fantastic book and was also a best seller. It adds something to the collection of written works. I think all great books are able to do that, even with all the genius that has come before.
4. What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
I know many authors hate the middle (they call it the sagging middle) but that’s actually my favorite part. By then I’ve dipped my feet in and definitely know where I’m going so I am lost in the characters and the plot, writing very creatively. At that point it’s hard to get me to stop.
5. Do you have any advice to give to aspiring authors?
Learn the tools of your trade first. Then write, write, write and don’t let anything stop you. Then edit even more before you publish or send it out.
6. If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?
This is book one in a seven book series, so if I had it all to do over, I would have already written all seven books and be finished! The next book is Erasing: Shattered!
