From the moment Jane entered the city, she found herself a pawn in a dangerous game between rivals unknown to her. With no real memory of who she is or where she came from, Jane embarks on a quest to uncover her past as well as discover who it is she promised to meet. Fraught with danger, her journey draws her the protection of the guardsman Derax, the cousel of the great Lady Ellowyn, and the most surprising of all, warning of plots and betwrayal by the most powerful oracle in the city. Along this journey to discover herself, Jane encounters a city peopled by the strange, the wonderful, the terrible…and so much more. By quest’s end, she must begin to wonder if Shadeside itself has a stake in her success – as if there could be any doubt..

The Lady of Seeking in the City of Waiting is a rousing fantasy full of unexpected surprises creating a very entertaining read. The intriguing narrative engulfs the readers attention, however, the crown jewel of the story, Jane is a heroine worthy of notice and attention making the story all the better.

Brozek’s writing is magical. She adeptly describes the city in such colorful and vivid detail causing the peruser to mentally picture every element. The characters are well developed bridging a warm relationship with the reader. Jane steals your heart and an instantaneous positive rapport is formed.

Jane is a strong, boldly independent, intelligent heroine and she is a compliment to the narrative (my kinda heroine!). She conducts herself in a worthy manner adding to her likability. The restoring of her lost memory was managed well, reflecting the skills of Brozek’s writing along with transition.

The Lady of Seeking in the City of Waiting is an intrepid story with twists galore. Jane the all consuming heroine is a delight. Brozek’s rich and textured writing will complete your journey with this very enchanting, captivating novella.
