Hiding her identity was a small price to pay for freedom… Heiress Cara Barrington fled the opulent world of her rich and famous family to carve out an idyllic existence on the California Coast. In the sleepy town of Albion Bay, she’s embraced the simple way of living she’s always craved. No one knows her identity, and she’s free from the pressures of wealth…until her sexy new neighbor threatens the unpretentious world she’s worked so hard to build. All-Star athlete Ryan Rea enjoys his high-profile status. He’s used to charming his way into the heart and bed of any woman he desires while keeping his own heart secure behind a steel wall. When he meets Cara, she throws him a curveball—she’s unlike any woman he’s ever met, and he has to have her. Cara’s growing attraction to Ryan endangers her hard-won anonymity, and when she inherits the family business, she must choose between the world she left behind and her new life in the community she’s come to cherish. But facing up to her responsibilities could destroy her freedom and cost her the greatest love she’s ever known.
What a fabulous story! Aares blends a quaint close knit community along side two wonderful, kind hearted protagonists. The combination is a grand slam home run.
Ryan and Cara have such noble intentions. Both have integrity and are attempting to carve a life for themselves on their terms. Ryan is dreamy. A professional athlete never losing sight of his roots. Trying to regain his footing in the trust department, you empathize with his past experiences and fear for the secret dotting the line between the future he and Cara could have.
Cara a young woman daunted by her family’s unimaginable wealth, never knowing if the relationships formed are simply due to her wealth and status. Cara, philanthropic by nature is set on making a difference in people’s lives and well as the community at large.
I never wanted a couple to connect as much as I wanted Ryan and Cara. Both are endearing and kind hearted deserving of each other. You just know these two together would be a fantastic combination and with their altruistic intentions – a dynamic force. Tow great people, you hope they experience the ultimate HEA.
Aares did a fabulous job of mixing a professional athlete with a heiress in hiding, burying her true identity. The budding romance, the steamy chemistry and their full blown personalities create a romantic story leaving you filled with hope. Very well done and a page turner to boot! Great all around story with many themes woven throughout the simple and sweet storyline.
