Mal’s Throwback Thursday!
Stellaluna
Janell Cannon
HMH Books for Young Readers April 30, 1993
Pages 46
Stellaluna is the tender story of a lost young bat who finally finds her way safely home to her mother and friends.
When my son was a little boy we read Stellauna so often we had most of the book memorized. This is a delightful story with powerful messages of: you are what you are, accept each others differences, and learn from the differences, and put yourself in another’s position on occasion. Cannon provides information on bats at the end of the narrative which is informative and fun, adding another fun aspect to Stellaluna. An entertaining book with wonderful illustrations and of course, a wonderful message. A book bringing back special time spent with my beautiful son. Any age will enjoy Janell Cannon and Stellaluna.
