How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was given this copy for the blog tour in exchange of an honest review.
I love anything that has to do with Salem and have even visited there to take in all the history they have to offer. (If you ever visit, take advantage of the ghost walking tour! It was the most fun!!!) So when I was asked to join this tour, I of course gave it a big old thumbs up! Why? you ask?? Well because the author is a descendant of Cotton Mather…YES!!! THE Cotton Mather from Salem history and I could not pass that up!
The story starts off with Sam moving into her new house in Salem. The house was actually where her father grew up but she had never been there before. Her father had kept her from his family and the only reason they were back was because her father was in a coma and was transferred to a local hospital near Salem. As soon as Sam arrives, the creepy things start happening. She thinks she is crazy but a school assignment sends her on a long path to search her ancestry and she finds out exactly what her family has to do with the witch trials.
This one is a great spooky read! One that would be good to read around Halloween. The characters are interesting and the story line will keep you on your toes. You will never know what will happen next and do not even think that you do! Because you will be dead wrong!
Get ready to tear up at the ending, I sure did! This was a great read full of Salem history. If you knew nothing about Salem before reading, that will not be the case by the end of reading this book!
