Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my second time reading this book and I have got to say that I enjoyed it a lot more the second time around. I am not sure why that is? I think maybe our reading tastes change with our mood and maybe I wasn’t into reading a fantasy book the first time I read it?

I think Celaena is a kick ass heroine and an all around tough chick. I really would love to be her BFF. Even though she is a famous assassin, she still has a heart which is very surprising after all she had been through. We can see her sweet side and her not so sweet side.

I also adored Chaol & Prince Dorian. I am not sure which one I would like her with and maybe I will have a decision made by the end of the next book? They both have redeeming qualities, the Prince is so sweet and it did not take her long to get under his skin while Chaol may have taken a bit longer, he has a tougher side and does not take any crap from her. He tells her exactly what he is thinking and they may have a better relationship because of it. After writing this, I may be leaning more towards one than the other but I will not be revealing which team I am on just yet. I need more info first:)

The ending was kind of bitter sweet. I do not trust the KING…LIKE AT ALL! Even though Celaena seemed to have proven herself, I still think he has quite a few tricks up his sleeve but I do think that her new friends will protect her at all costs. I cannot wait to start the next book and see where this story leads, I am told that it only gets better and better!

  1. Your not alone, it took me awhile to actually pick it up too. Sometimes the over hype of a series makes me back off a little and wait it out. But this one was really good if you enjoy fantasy. There is also a little magic thrown in too.
