This series was created by the very fabulous Destiny at Howling Libraries. The idea is to choose 5 books from your TBR shelf, read the first chapter of each and decide which book you will be reading for the challenge the following month.
I adore this idea and think it will really help get my TBR down since I can usually tell by the writing style immediately if I will enjoy a book or not. So, I will be pulling from my TBR jar for this challenge and if I think that I might like the book, I will put it back in but if I definitely know that I will not…it will get discarded and off the TBR right away.
My January Choices
- Damsel by Elana Arnold: This book starts off so good! And sounds amazing! Slaying dragons, Rescue the damsel, handsome Prince! I really enjoyed the first chapter and actually wanted to continue!
- Kiss Collector by Wendy Higgins: Ugh, It pains me to say that I DNF’d this one:( I love Wendy Higgins and I adore her writing but I could not get past the first chapter of this book.
- Last Best Story by Maggie Lehrman: DNF, Could not get past the first chapter of this one either:(
- Endless Water, Starless Sky by Rosamund Hodge: This is a second book in a series and I have not read the first, so, I did not even bother with the first chapter.
- So Glad To Meet You by Lisa Super: The first chapter captured my attention! Bucket list, Star-crossed Love.
And the winner is…
So Glad To Meet You!The first chapter captured my attention so much so that I did not want to put it down! So I didn’t. LOL! I just kept right on reading!
Damsel & Endless Water, Starless Sky had been placed right back into my TBR since I do want to read them both eventually.
Have you read any of these books? Tell me your thoughts on them.

I’m so glad you decided to do this, and way to go on managing to even clean up your TBR a little in the process! 😀
