How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?

Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the ‘life’ they’ve been assigned. What they don’t realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.

When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz’s establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel’s path and a warrior’s plans.

From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that’s ripping them apart.

Review

Someday I know that I’ll have to choose between the one I was made for and the one I made a promise to down there… but not today. “You already know I love you,” I answer. “I’ve said that to you since we were ten-years-old.”

The start of this book was amazing! The prologue captured my attention and had me wondering what else could be in store for the reader.

Amy Lignor has created a new take on your typical angels. I enjoyed the characters the most. They were well-developed, quirky and interesting. At times, the book did get confusing with the characters jumping back and forth between heaven and earth, but it did not deter me from reading. I enjoyed the fact that most of the book took place in the 1800s, but it kind of felt like it was taking place in modern times instead.

I must gush on the cover for a moment. It is absolutely gorgeous and intriguing.  The cracks make an interesting impact and make it seem kind of spooky!

Overall, I would recommend this book to any paranormal & angel lover. This is just book 1 in the series, no word yet as to book two, but I will keep my eye out for it. That is why I give this book 4 good nite kisses!
